The sheriff is apparently the main bad guy, and he's ever so growly. So much gorier and thus edgier than QFG, you see. an actual game.Īn obligatory gritty execution to welcome us into the town. The sort of perspective issue you wouldn't expect from. Our hero is apparently hobbit sized - or all the buildings are made for giants. But you're actually told what all the nearby locales are called, and it's all generic stuff like "South Woods". Nitpicky - the area is called "Volksville" which is a take on. Of all the places to depart from gaming tradition in favor of absolutely nothing. One tombstone gets the "what a rotten way to die" reaction, the rest are literally "there's no point in getting to know them - they're quite dead". I think it might be "anti-hero without sliding into outright gruff cliche" but what it actually amounts to is "oddly strained".Ĭemetery. I have no idea what voice the actor for the hero is trying to do. I see the humor is taking directions from Quest For Glory 4.5. "You could, but you don't want to smell like a dirty dirty whore". Well, that's not an exceptionally good joke, bu- "You stole it." Yeaaaaaaaah. "This is a fine sword, even better because it was free". GENIUS game design custom-made to discourage exploration. You have to run up to every object you look at (or try to interact with). The sneak animation (and pretty much all animations and general look) appears to be copy-pasted from QFG. The prelude takes forever for all the animations to play out, and even when you start the game proper and turn the speed all the way up, you never sneak-zip across the screen a la QFG - every screen walked is a bit of a chore. It's not terrible, just overtly committed to being bland and tacky. Thanks for your support guys :) It's really nice hearing good comments about our games, especially after putting so much work into them.Xander77Overall, it feels as though this game should be the freeware while Heroine's Quest is the game you'd actually pay for.
QUEST FOR INFAMY COVER FULL
And we clearly wouldn't be able to afford to work on games full time. We both work full time jobs and I have a young child, so it means we can't work flat out on our games.

I'd personally love to see a Heroine's Quest 2 too, but right now we're focused on some other projects which we also want to get out there. Over time we will eventually see payback and a little bit of pocket money (or we'll use it for new games), as long as people keep hearing about our games. Fortunately we have some generous patrons on Patreon, and that helps us to at least not be personally out of pocket. Yeah, we haven't made a profit on our games yet (and that's just to cover the expenses such as music and voices and additional art / others, not counting our own time we have put into the games). Lso eh quest for glory games and quest for infamy if you haven't played htem. Quest for Infamy (even though not as good as Heroine's quest overall to me) i don't think sold that well, os something like Heroine's quest is more out of passion than profit.īTW you may want to check out Tale of Two Kingdoms, not a RPG but similar theme. I would love a Heroine's Quetst 2, whether is another norse setting, irsh like (tale of two kingdoms) or somewhere else. Heroine's Quest took a lot of time and work from people working for FREE. Originally posted by thenamelessninja:Crystal Shard I think doesn't have much money and htey are mostly making games for fun.Įven though they sold a few things recently commercially they don't make much of a profit think.
